8-sun (24cm) Plate, Ash Glaze
A work by Ono Tai, a potter based in Kochi Prefecture.
He creates using clay sourced from the mountains near his home.
This greenish ash glaze is applied over a red clay body with white clay and wood ash. To intentionally introduce a rough texture within the white clay, raw clay and coarse earth are incorporated.
It is a beautiful piece featuring a stone-like texture and lovely glaze pools.
