All the wood bases forming the prototype for Appi lacquerware are made from domestic timber.
Primarily using species like Japanese cherry, horse chestnut, zelkova, and Japanese zelkova, these bases are cut lengthwise to minimize warping, ensuring durability and resistance to cracking.
Appi lacquerware employs precious lacquer sourced from Iwate Prefecture, accounting for only 2% of domestic circulation. This provides the reassurance unique to domestic lacquer and is characterized by a pure, soft luster.
It is a simple lacquerware suitable for any occasion.

Its higher foot ring than standard bowls makes it easier to hold.
The tall foot ring design also gives it a robust impression, making it particularly popular with men.
