The wood used for the base of Appi lacquerware is entirely sourced from domestic Japanese timber.
Primarily using species like Japanese cherry, horse chestnut, zelkova, and Japanese zelkova, the wood is cut lengthwise to minimize warping, resulting in a sturdy, crack-resistant base.
Appi lacquerware uses precious lacquer from Iwate Prefecture, accounting for only 2% of domestic circulation. This provides the reassurance unique to domestic lacquer and is characterized by its pure, soft luster.
It is simple lacquerware suitable for any occasion.
The compact bowl is easy to hold, even for those with smaller hands. Its stable, user-friendly shape makes it an excellent introductory lacquer bowl.
This bowl is suitable for everyone, from children to adults.
Available in two colors: Tame (dark black) and Shu (crimson).
Pairs well with the Takadai bowl as a matching set.
