All the wood bases forming the foundation of Appi lacquerware are made from domestic Japanese timber.
Primarily using Mizume cherry, horse chestnut, zelkova, and Japanese zelkova, these bases are cut lengthwise to minimize warping, ensuring durability and resistance to cracking.
Appi lacquerware employs precious lacquer sourced from Iwate Prefecture, accounting for only 2% of Japan's domestic lacquer supply. This domestic lacquer offers a unique sense of security and is characterized by its pure, soft luster.
This is a simple lacquerware piece suitable for any occasion.

Perfect for Japanese cuisine, of course, but also ideal for Western dishes like soupy curries, stews, and salads.
Using wooden cutlery with it is recommended as it helps prevent scratches on the bowl.
