“Serve your cuisine on a stone or iron.” While trying to turn such idea into incredible new tableware for daily use, we came across the soil of Mie and used it to produce Sekki ware. The soil in Yokkaichi city in Mie and Aichi prefectures is full of iron-rich clay, so when fired at high temperature, the Sekki ware hardens and does not absorb any water. Although the soil is normally used for making teapots, we tried to make tableware and ended up successfully producing a new type of tableware which was neither porcelain nor earthenware.
Sekki is a hard vessel known in Europe as stoneware.
Gray, created by spraying clay and firing it. Black, with an iron-like glaze. Grayish matte white. Deep blue, like beautiful stone. If you use the three together, you will find an effectively balanced color combination. You also find the ware convenient for everyday use. Even if you have many plates or bowls, you may always use your favorites. We have designed the most convenient tableware available: four types of plates and bowls respectively. We hope our tableware becomes your favorite, whatever the dish or occasion.

L-size plates, big enough to serve plenty of salad or any big food. This size is perfect for a one-plate meal.
The base of the plate is set high so that it can be easily picked up with one hand, and it also makes it easy to fit your fingers in when stacked.
We also recommend using it with layering with the M size.

Size & Volume Details

Colors & Materials

Gray (Unglazed)
Since the clay surface is left intact, it is prone to oil stains, but they can be removed by scrubbing with a scrubbing brush. Metal marks are resistant, and the more you use it, the darker the color will become, developing a more refined appearance.
If you are concerned about stains, please wash the pot in oil as described above. Water may cause stains, but scrubbing with a melamine sponge will remove them.
The mineral components in the clay may produce a strong brownish color.

In addition, uneven glaze, variations in shade, black spots, and bubbles may be visible, and each piece will be unique. Please enjoy these as part of the unique character of the pottery.

Handling & Care

○ The ware can be used in microwave ovens at temperatures of up to 260°C and dishwashers (driers).
○ The ware should not be exposed to direct heat from the stove top.
○ The ware can be stored in the refrigerator and freezer at a temperature of -20°C.
○ We advise caution over sudden changes in temperature, which may damage the ware, even within the temperature range.
○ Wash with neutral detergent. Using an abrasive scrubbing brush, metal scrub brush and cleanser may damage the ware.
○ Stop using if any cracks or chips develop.
○ Easy to clean and maintain.
○ The ware is not water absorbent: Even if used repeatedly, no malodors linger. Always clean.
